Hello,
I bought this car one year ago in Holland, it spent most of its life in Sweden. This is a Euro 1958 L334 patina OG paint, except on fenders... PO changed one heater channel (left) and small part of the rear bumper attachment spots (I do not know the name in english, sorry for that, globally sorry for my english !).
Unfortunately all 4 fenders were changed at one moment (long time before I bought it). I would love to make them as close as possible as the rest of the car, but I do not know how for now... Well for the moment it will remain as it is. I am happy with it, that's the most important thing...
Engine seems to be original one (at least it matches manufacturing year and month) and works great except a small oil leak on cylinder #1.
Interior is amazingly clean.
Since I have it I installed dropped spindles, US turn signal in addition to my semaphores, and that's it.
After dropped spindles installation :
Interior : (at this time I did not clean it yet)

Hello,
Well actually I do not want to paint it, nor restore it for the moment. Except the paint it is in really nice shape. And about the paint, the fact is that I like it as it is...
flyboy161, effectivement si vous avez besoin de photos spécifiques, dites le moi je ferai de mon mieux pour vous aider. _________________ Fred

Nice , now paint the car and restore it correctly .. |
Absolutely concur. I get if the paint is perfect or real close to leave it alone, but with the interior being so nice, a nice respray in the original color would make it an even nicer restoration. Find correct fenders and restore it.
Either way, nice car.

If the car was perect and completly un molested than maybe leave the patina but even then , patina is just rust development ... _________________ " Hot vw feature , may 2014 issue "

Merci, Fred. Your English is very good and my French is very rusty, so I'll switch back to English. You look to be in Southern France? I spent some time there some time ago. My '64 is too original to restore for the time being and is a good daily driver. It is one thing to have a car that is restored, but when you tell some people it is not restored and all original, well that puts the car in a whole new light. Their eyes light up and the start to look at it more closely.
With the right polish and care you can make your car shine again. But do keep a close eye on the patina that it does not become "corrosion perforante".
My '58 will have the same material for the seats as yours.
Finding original fenders with the hard conduit for the headlights is difficult. One of mine was changed and I have been looking nearly two years for the correct one. Always I can find the one I already have, but never the driver side which was changed.
