Have not posted in a while but finally found a 5 lug 67 front end. Not sure how narrow I am going to go this time.

Its definitely getting:
Dropped spindles
tie rod flip kit
lowered ball joints
lowered camber adjusters
Monroe MA756 shocks
Ball joint beam adjusters

As for the bug, still getting the rattle can primer off almost done with it.

Still need to figure out between 2 and 4" and I def want to be a low as my 69. I think for now it will prob be static.

On a side note, I have been working on the sap on the bug. I have been looking for good way to take it off. Looked up a few vids on ytube.

I got some 67 5 lug drums. I can't tell if they are both German but will see how they work out. I will prob just run the 67 brakes and backing plates for now with a spline spacer. With the rims I will be running I might have to go to thing drums down the road if they need to go out an extra inch on each side.

Have to restock my funds to get some adjusters and front end parts. Might be a while for the next up date.

Actually had little bit of time to wash the bug for the fist time. There is still a lot of work left on the paint. One of my kids playing in the bug left the radio on so dead battery. Smile Still have to scrape the paint off the windows from the rattle can job though.

Love a '68! Especially the light coloured ones with matched running board mats. The ones on my '68 were cracked like yours; I had to find NOS blue ones, but I think they reproduce the beige ones.

That’s pretty funny. I was just looking at the beading color as mine is the og matched beading on my fenders. The running boards are the og too I think, but they are black. I will have to look at them closer when I get home. The stock matching color probably would look pretty good with some stainless rock guards in the back. Are you running a 4" beam?

Cool. I saw the cracked up coloured mats and it reminded me of my car when I bought it. It is a 4" beam, with spindles.

Its been a while but I spent few days waxing half the hood. Now normally with darker colored paint this would pop. Also its a bit harder to take pictures of the light color to show the contrast. I used Meguiars deep crystal 3 step system. I might have to go over it again, so it would be a 6 step. Its a lot of work but it should turn out nice.

Left side is waxed just so you know. Smile

Well, small amount of a update. I got my drums surfaced the turned out pretty good.
Still trying to figure out the front beam and I thought I would be farther along. Now I don't think I will have stuff ready to work on over tg week.
I have been spending hrs trying to figuret out the secrets of the wheel and tire combo. I don't think it has been done on mine. I have the tires figured out but the beam is going to be between 2&4 inches. More to come on that later.

I picked up the cutter from my friend. I think this should do the job. I used one of these on my last beam and it worked great. It takes longer but you get nice straight cuts. Smile
