After 3 years of design and testing, I'm happy to say that the New 044 Panchito head is on the market. No out of the box VW casting head comes close to the performance and cooling efficiency of this cylinder head.
Check it out.

Cooling is improved over other VW casting heads. We tried to duplicate the cooling of a stock VW casting. Other than the increased material around the bores, the new Panchito resembles a stock casting very close.

PatD, any flow numbers that I can add to the cylinder head sheet or are they the same as the old Panchitos?

155cfm @ .500 as cast is nice. Almost 25cfm up from a std 044 head casting. Also 61 cc cnc chambers would support a nice low budget turbo build.

can we get a close up of the combustion chambers "out of the box" as purchased?

so far every 044 "out of the box" head I've come across has needed a lot of clean up around the seats from inconsistant machining / seat installation.

That is AWESOME!
Thank you Pat!

Of course, everybody will want something slightly different ect, ect, but screw em. That's the best street head I've ever seen, and the price is LOW.
i KNOW how much work it is to duplicate that, it's a lot of work, you could not pay me to do it. CB has come a long way in ten years.

Very Nice Job on the Intake Ports, definitely maximized the material available Very Happy
$570 for a set of heads flowing 167 @ 25 is a great deal. This is about 176CFM @ 28, so if your comparing these to other heads measured @28 you can see they have achieved a monumental landmark here. Surprised
All that out of a 40X35.5, I like it!

Not bad. will these include the proper tin in the head, or at least be able to use them?
