|
|
I got my 66 bug without much history. The interior must have been redone once because I am missing the dome light and the ashtray in the rear. I just had the interior redone a second time but not the door panels. I am getting ready to buy new ones and as I was watching YouTube videos on how to remove them, I noticed that some had an inside door handle on the passenger side.
Can anyone tell me if they all had it? was in an option? I know that the pockets in the doors were an option. Any help is appreciated. _________________ Ray

If you mean the armrest, it would be passenger side only if I remember right. I believe 1967 was the first year for both sides to have an armrest. _________________ '67 Beetle L41

My '66 still has its original panels. Armrest on the right, pocket on the left. Style wise, they are a one year only design. TMI makes panels that are very close to the originals. It's all about the impressed lines and the trim. |

Yes, I do mean the armrest. Thank you for the correction.
I have been buying all the interior parts from West Coast Metric. I just got the inner window scrapers and I figured I might as well replace them since I have to replace the door panel. The outer ones are also bad and they are not cheap. I am going to bite the bullet and get them as well.
I am not looking for a concours condition car, but one that looks and drive decent. I think I have a winner if I may say so myself. I love driving it more than I do the Thing. _________________ Ray
