| I own a 1973 microbus. when you open the drivers door the dome light does not come on. but yet if i have the key in and open the drivers door it does come on. it seems that you would want the dome light on at night so you sould see where to put your key! is this normal for an old vw? thak you for your help |

First of all. Does the Buzzer still work when you have the Key in the ignition and open the door? If it doesn't-----that circuit is shorting out your dome light. The dome light should be on in both your cases. My guess is the buzzer circuit is causing your problem. I don't have a 73 to check but all VWs of that era work the same way. |

Not sure of the wiring on a bus, but it sounds like you've got the live feed coming off the switched positive side of the ignition, shouldn't it come from a permanent live instead?? _________________ Rob
