Serviced the beetle yesterday and noticed the distributor points will soon need to be replaced (lobe rider worn so much can't get the dwell under 50*). Thing is, the last couple of a Bosch GB185 points I bought online were crap out of the box; at least, the points didn't line up at all. People say to 'tweak' the arm but there was noway getting these to line up properly.
Question is, what is a good alternative? Maybe Bosch points have gotten better in the last couple of years? I can get Beru here in Oz. Are these any good? Anything else people recommend?

Not sure if Bosch is still making ignition components for old VWs. I recently saw an online petition asking Bosch to produce them again.
I'm interested in alternatives as well. Good luck!
