|
|
Installing new tie rods and damper on my '66 with 2" beam.
First, the angle on the damper doesn't point it correctly from the tie rod to the mount on the beam. Is this the wrong damper or do I just change (bend) the end so that it lines up correctly.
Second, the inner tie rod ends are touching each other on the pitman arm. These are the ends that came as a set. They don't seem to be obstructing each other, just sitting together with a tight fit.
Thanks

I had the same problem with the damper. I put it in a vise where its angled and painted black and changed the angle . Because I have been forced to buy some cheap aftermarket parts I have found that many parts need some tweaking to fit. |

Thanks. I kind of figured and totally agree on the aftermarket parts. Its' hard to know some times when to modify and when to step back and figure out if I installed something incorrectly. _________________ '90 Vanagon
