Based upon the types of questions/comments that you have been stating, I would STRONGLY suggest getting the CB Crank trigger and NOT the mega jolt. (if you must get crank trigger)
Earlier, you mentioned your concern to find someone else to tune the CB setup. This tells me that your first thought is to not rely on yourself, when your first thought with crank trigger SHOULD be to rely on yourself and learn it.
Also, you mentioned "Weld the crank trigger wheel to the pulley" which says you are definitely at the beginning stages of your automotive learning.
If you had your heart is set on getting a crank trigger, simpler the better for the start.
Cb's combos are very user friendly, and they don't leave you in the dark.

OP,
So three pages later did you ever replace your coil?
Der6Volt,
Got any more information on your vwspeedshop system? What are you using to control the spark? It was hard to tell but it looks like you are using a TPS sensor, alpha-N. Is that correct?
The website only shows the trigger not the ignition box. _________________ 1957 Oval rag

Hi I went crank trigger ignition from triggerwheels got everything I need from one shop it use a megajolt system.
Plus I may get the CB performance trigger wheel kit that way I don't have to do any machine work at all and sell the parts I don't need on.
I now have a SVDA distributor map witch I will use at first then slowly play around with it and if all goes wrong the is a dyno Tuning garage who specialise in DIY crank ignition using the megajolt or megasquirt units |

Hi all I know it's been a long time but I'm all most ready to start my new engine with the megajolt system but have just one little job left and that's to wire up the pick-up sensor. Now I know witch wire is the postive and negative but witch pin on the pick-up is the postive and witch is the negative there is now marking on the sensor at all. |

I have a (megasquirt)coil on plug setup on my 36hp with webers. It works awesome. Plus it really cleaned up the engine bay I feel without the look of a dizzy on there.
This winter I plan on finishing my fuel system and just keeping my carbs to act as throttles body's.
If you want to use coil on plug then just do it. You will not regret it. |

Yes I agree the engine bay looks so much cleaner with out the distributor and fuel pumpvinnicombe the way But I will never part with my weber 48 IDF's in just love the sound they make
Plus my timing is spot on all the time now with the smoothest idle I've ever had. |

You should change your rpm bins so you go all the way to redline and remap accordingly. _________________

question for you lot, done a new map and datalogg and have noticed that the map and log don't match up. For example if you look at the photo below at 188 seconds you will noticed that the log is saying engine rpm is 1948, load is 68 and timing is 19 degrees but on the map table the ignition timing should be 28-29 degrees any ideas why there is a difference?
The log timing all ways seems to be lower than what the map table is set to.
