January 1954. You can confirm this yourself by looking at the 1954 (and earlier) Type 1 wiring diagrams posted under the "Technical" tab on this site.

Many thanks, did the change take place on january 1st, 1954 or on december 20th, 1953, like the 25hp to 30hp engine and a few other changes?
