Their are so many agency's that regulate what can be sold for car on American roads no one who owned a foundry would produce parts that don't work, much less pass inspection. |
Well these agencies aren't doing a very good job.
10 years ago I did believe that suspension and brake parts WERE very well QC'd with the DOT looking over shoulder, but I've found so many sketchy parts, that from here....it appears that nobody is looking, and nobody gives a crap.
Lets put it all together and give it a go!
The rubber grommets are blocking fluid from entering the master, which is good, because the brake pressure switch will explode if it did develop pressure, once that's fixed, you can't adjust the brakes because you have the wrong cylinders, and that's good, because that's stopping you from noticing the drums which should be made of ductile iron are now made from some brittle material and the threads will pull out soon, assuming by luck they did bore the middle the right size for the bearings or axle, which is rare.
Which agency do I contact |

Good luck with contacting any government agency. I looked into doing that when I had the wheel cylinder fluid blowout trouble 13 years ago and quickly discovered that it was a very complicated process that would require a lot of my time. So, as po'd as I was, I gave up, which is probably their desired effect.
IMO, stick to big brand names that have been associated with the make of your car and try to stay away from Chinese garbage. |
