It's looking really good!
I would seriously consider correcting the front window openings before you build it up. It'll be much less painful to get it fixed now (assuming you want to) _________________

If that's the case maybe he could just ask 10 foot Doug on some pointers on how to drive a barndoor with slightly smaller windows _________________ (20-024785)Ambulance (20-037784)truck (20-035850)panel

I really will fix this detail. As I said in my first post: "My main goal is making an original factory condition restoration, within what´s possible...".
But it´s not possible now. The bodywork and painting were made in a workshop located 155 miles from home and these photos were taken more than a year ago
At the moment the Barndoor is stored in my garage, at home, and I'am slowly assembling it with my own hands. This happens slowly because I do this only in my fee time. My professional activity is quite different from that.
I'm no expert in restoration, but I have a lot of willingness to learn. No hurry and without term. It's my therapy.
So, my priority now is mounting: glasses, wiring loom, brake system, engine, seats, upholstery, headliner, sunroof...
Still need to restore the semaphores and brake light. As you can see, I have a lot of fun ahead.
At some point I'll stop to correcting the front windows openings for sure, but not now
Gradually I will show the pictures of the work I ever did and what I am doing. I will have many doubts and questions. I count on your collaboration. Thank you for following! |

Yeah... I am not sure how the #'s actually work.. always seems like there are way more Engine #'s then there are Busses made each month |
Engine numbers were consecutive as they went into vehicles being produced.....meaning there were not separate running numbering systems for type 1 and type 2. The prefix made the distinction for what type of vehicle they went into. -1- for beetle and -20- for bus. Two consecutive engine numbers could have been for a beetle and then a bus, but with different prefixes. That's why it seems there are more engine numbers than busses being built. There were! The other numbers were in beetles. _________________ Looking for these items for my June '53 kombi:

Hi Brian! At about 4 years ago I lost some pictures when my notebook burned down. Unfortunately I lost the first pictures of the bus because I had not backed up |
