Hello,
Anyone know if they exist? Off centered step studs?
I have a 8mm stud oil pump and want to put it in my 6mm case
And because the circle pattern for 8mm is bigger for 6mm pumps/cases the pump is not centered
In my mind it would look something like this

You can use the 8mm pump with 6mm studs, no funky offset studs required. If the thickness of the pump body and cover plate are an issue, you can use longer 6mm studs or bolts. _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga" |

To me it demonstrates the engineering VW was thinking all along. When they switched the stud size- they didn't enlarge them on center- but rather in a radial 'pattern.' Makes perfect evolutionary sense- run it. _________________

Make sure the inlet and outlet holes in the pump and case line up. Probably want to use the 6mm cover to prevent leaks. |

Hmm, i'd still rather want those off centered step studs, so that will be custom works also because for better aligning from the oil passage oils.
I am nog going to use the 6mm cover because i am doing some testing with adding a oil filter without drilling the case.
eye candy for type III people
CB performance maxi 3 pump with lots of sand paper TLC fits with only half a mm of space between

So, did the fittings on the oil pump cover clear the shroud? Looked pretty tight to me. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Had to sand a couple of millimeter from the fitting and fan shroud but got a clearance of a couple millimeter right now |
