Tried to start my hotwired bug today. I have electric to the electronic ignition but no spark. Swapped a coil from a motor that ran a year ago but no luck. Tried to put in a points dust but wired it wrong and melted it. Is there a way to test if the electronic ignition is working correctly? Also the wiring is melted in the car. I am hotwiring it with power to the plus side of the coil and the dust has wires to the plus and minus of the coil. Do I need to run a wire from the negative coil to ground to run? Thanks
