1976 Restore. Could not figure out why the first lever on the heat controls would not move. It turns out the first cable on that lever is stuck. The second on the lever moves and opens and closes the from duct. Where does this first cable (the one I disconnected in the photo) go and why might it be stuck?

Also your thoughts on getting it unstuck would be wonderful.

BTW I did go through most of the tech tips on the heater assembly and 8 pages of search before I posted this.

Thank you for your help oh great bus gurus!

One cable on that lever (the one you left on) helps you switch between defrost and feet. The other cable runs under the bus to the rear flapper / diverter, to give heat to the backseat.

I just installed new heater cables in my '76, and didn't bother with that one. I wired that flapper closed and actually blocked it on the inside as well.. I'm selfish and want all that heat up front with me, if I have any backseat passengers, they can use a blanket!

The one that does move is the one that goes to the pipe in the center under the dash and opens a flapper there. The other one must be the one for the back seat heat then. Thank you. Yup we don't have to worry about that either. Plugged the hole back there and covered it up. I was just afraid it was some real long cable that goes to the back and that it was screwed up.

Once again thank you.
