Here's the vin to my car. 113-184581, |
113 is probably the model number: M1: 113 = 2 door Sedan; Deluxe Model LHD
VIN is probably 184581 which lines up with an August 1950 car. |

What we might of said back in the day.

If you look at the Pre 53 listing on this site, you'll see that there is a car with the chassis number 1-184591, described as an 11C - Deluxe/Export sedan, left-hand drive, & living in the USA, which seems to fit the bill.
I would bet that this is the same car, but that the 8 & 9 have been mis read somewhere along the line. Is the trail becomong warmer? |

... getting your old car back, would be wonderful... like I bought my brother's 11/52 Zwitter from him in 1992... eventually, he wanted it back and I sold it back to him in 2011... Lucky guy, how often does that happen, to get a second chance?

Sold my 51 Split in 1983 and found on The Samba in Jan. 2007 then restored
it to as stock as possible. It was 300 miles away and being used for drag racing.

I'm actually an automotive specialist for the Barrett Jackson auction company. I have been seeing a lot of VW bugs here at the past few auctions. It got me to wondering where my first car was. I will wind up buying another bug, just not sure which one yet. There was a very nice 56 VW that did well at Barrett Jackson Vegas, this past September. $36k. |
