Can one of the KDF experts tell me if these are for a KDF car? or are they from some other car like a Mercedes or Unimog? I have no idea. They are NOS Bosch units. Thanks! Tim

Those are round. Beetle lenses are oval shaped so those are not for a Beetle. _________________ Chris

Not Kubel or Schwimmer.
Mercedes had a chassis code of 170 for a vehicle. |

The late war headlight lenses do not have canvas covers, they were painted. |

Thanks for the responses! So at this point, we are thinking because of the 170 number stampings on the back of these Bosch headlight covers they are not for a VW related vehicle? I also know Notec made some of these and maybe not Bosch. The repro ones they make in Spain have tabs that go over the headlight glass to hold them on. Not sure what would hold these on. |

A couple of them, actually, one rather Bug-like. The light shapes and production timing seem right.
Rear-engined 170H:
From wiki: "Dr. Porsche, creator of the Volkswagen, had been chief engineer at Daimler-Benz between 1923 and 1928 when the little rear-engined Mercedes-Benz sedans were under development."
Front-engined 170V:

... probably universal headlight covers which fit for lenses with a diameter of 170 millimeters. Please measure!
Best regards |
