I enjoyed the first two as well, except for that mercenary training.
Nezz, thanks for posting the links.

Just watched the 3rd episode. wasn't bad. Still entertaining, but felt even more scripted than usual.

I think all three have been 6 out of 10. It's a weaker execution to the same old bits only with new super cars. I predict smashing of caravans and large gratuitous explosions in the future. It seems to have jumped the shark for me, paticularly because they are getting too old for the gimmicks. Like how Blues Brothers 2000 was to the original.

The stig replacement can drive, but he's kinds of a fat idiot, like the people they made fun of on their gulf coast film.

well, if you think of the 10+ seasons they did on BBC, pretty much all my favourite were the specials... and some random episodes (yes, like the caravan, or the 3 wheeler (robin?)).

i'd give them until then to say its worst than the original

While I do like the grand tour I feel like it's missing some of the wackyness that was on top gear. When they made the convertible van, made boats out of cars, made "campers" out of cars, raced the motorhomes which turned in to a demolition derby. We're 3 episodes in and the funniest thing for me so far is the way they keep killing off the celebrity guest each week. They need to step it up a bit in my opinion.

Agreed. ^ It's weird that I enjoy "Roadkill" vastly more than both at this point. And I'm sure it costs a fraction of what they're spending on either show.

and put a muzzle on the stig. He's not funny and just makes himself (and americans) look stupid.

Still a good/passable show though.

I agree with everything you just said. And I just finished watching the most recent episode of Road Kill.

So my daily driver is a Challenger, (not a hellcat) and I thoroughly enjoyed episode number 3. I think it was the best one so far. I thought Hammond's teasing of May with the Hellcat was hilarious.

4th one was good imho.

I am enjoying the debilitated drone theme in each episode.

Just finished watching the christmas special episode with the dune buggy.

I enjoyed it. It was as stupid as ever, but very enjoyable to watch.

Obviously, do not expect to learn anything from it, its for entertainment only.

You can learn something from it. Antifreeze/water is a nuisance Laughing Only Clarkson overheated.

I really enjoyed the first episode in this Christmas special, especially since I just bought a dune buggy.

Like Top Gear it's all about entertainment.
Still, building my own buggy, I was gutted to see they broke down the buggy's for no other reason than entertainment. Crying or Very sad
We just watched the last episode(s) this AM. Good stuff. Hammond had the best buggy by far.
