Hi guys,
Let me introduce myself, I am the new one here. I come from the home of our beloved babys.... Germany. I Like type 3 since my childhood and now i have finally bought one. With little idea and a lot of enthusiasm and with the support of 2 mates i start working now to bring this baby back on the road.
She is an original Pigalle and still has some original interior parts. The carpet is quite bad and the dashboard was been overpainted by some idiot. My plan is to keep her as original as possible. Unfortunately, original pigalle parts are hard to find and very expensive. But with your support it will work... I am looking forward to sharing the progress here with you.

Lovely.. A white fasty..
Can't wait to see how this goes.
What are your plans?
Looks like they were not shy with the paint gun.
Do you plan to go 'all the way'?
FWIW, Pigalle parts are out there.
At the Classic a few years ago, there was a guy who had a couple of complete pig interiors all spread out on his table, and in good shape.
He explained that many did not like the style at the time,
And replacing the red interior parts was common,
hence,
complete OG red interiors in good shape..
Good luck in your search!
If you do indeed do a complete restoration on this car,
many who hoard the parts will be rightly impressed,
And consider your cause worthy of certain key treasures.
Get the car straight and shiny,
and the pig parts will surface.

Finally I found the time for a small update. With twins of 2 years it is not always easy and it also delays working on the car. Fortunately I have 2 good people who care about miss piggy.
The fasty should remain as original as possible. At the moment she is completely disassembled and the metalwork (first on the floor) has begun. In the floor she has a few small holes which have to be welded. The other metal (fenders, body etc.) looks good as far as I can judge. The engine gets a complete overhaul. As far as I can tell at the moment it is a matching numbers car. Pictures will follow as soon as possible. I think it will take some time until Piggy is back on the road. |

Sweet looking rare car, a great find. Glad to hear you're trying to keep it original.
I have 2 year old twins as well, so I know Exactly what you mean. I find that most things to do with the kids require two adults, so time for working on projects is in short supply.
Good luck! _________________ Air does not freeze. Air does not boil.

After some time, here is a little update.
Slow progres is made. The body is of the pan and what was found is more rust than first expectet.I think the heatercannels have to be welded. Next is mediablasting and than i see exactly how bad it realy
Is.

That's a really nice sized shop. Looks like you have enough room to totally tear the car apart. The car itself looks to be in pretty decent condition, and should make for a relatively easy resto. Good luck with it and have fun. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

some news (unfortunately without photos).
the undercarriage is now dry ice blasted. and I was lucky and could get hold of 2 pan-halves (thanks to mario of the type3headquarter) I think at this speed the resto will occupy my time for a few more years .... |
