Working on it. Just insulted the Syncro folks on aisle 5!
I suspect I know why and it's a bit of a loss to the forum in some ways, but a definite net gain in civility and effectiveness of communication. Thanks for your continued hard work!!

I am too busy to weight everything in my van.. take them out, weight item by item and put them back.. to find out the empty van weight and the fully loaded van weight.... because I don't trust any chart...
while doing that I am thinking about going on a diet... tough job for the holidays..

Certainly an increase in communication. There is absolutely no use, on a forum for a member who says "I know how to do it, and its on the forum somewhere. _namedrop1_ & _namedrop2_ (departed members of respect) have addressed this numerous times. Search the forum better and maybe you'll find out too but you probably can't afford to do it right like I do for my exclusive clients." This is a member using the forum to troll for "exclusive clients" and _wrecking_ the free exchange of forum information in the process.
If you broach a subject regarding a mod that he had a bunch of clients running; he'd disrupt the thread so you couldn't discuss it. I presume so they wouldn't bother him with questions about their installs.
When you got into a subject he didn't know about he'd try to disrupt the thread rather than appear un-knowledgeable. So we couldn't move forward on some subjects.
There was no loss. A guy like that chases away other members (past, present and future) who have REAL possibility of contributing to the forum. THAT is the REAL loss.
An example of a losses are Sancious, Dogpilot, TenCent(?). We're blessed with folks like Crazyvwvanman, Rubbachicken, gears, MarkWard, DanfromSyr, ftpleta, DJkeev, people who are online, scan the posts, and CARE that you get your van running as best as you can. Of course theres many, many more. Even some in the background who feed info to the "posting members". IdahoDoug included! Members who UNDERSTAND that you may be at wits end, appealing to the forum for HELP, & don't think of new members as a whipping boy or an opportunity to elevate oneself by stepping on another.
Don't bemoan the loss. What was there, if useful, was unobtainable, and better if provided by a different member ( perhaps with a LINK to the thread or at least a searchterm ).
Like when you're opening christmas gifts in your jammies and you get a multitool Leatherman from Costco (sealed in plastic armor). You already have several Leathermans, _so many_ that its rather pointless to go get a 2015 to open this 2016. We don't need him. Other, better members will fill in, especially if he hasn't blown up the thread.
The only loss, could be to those who enjoyed the textual fisticuffs (even if they didn't realize it). The scuffles would bump the thread to the top often, increasing the chance a quality member would see it & offer a solution. So theres that....

I mod four other Fora (not here) and the most delicious thing I ever saw on pHp software was 'zombie mode'
Instead of banning someone, there login went to a mirror site that was really tough to log into (minimum six tries, password errors generated, site not found, would come up in wrong language, would kick you off every 13 minutes )
and then when you did post it looked completely normal, except no one int he world could see it except for the giggling mods.
Utterly priceless...and the idiots would never ask for help because...well, you can figure that out.

Hey Dave:
I think that there have been a number of posters over the last few weeks who have really led by example by being polite and positive, but also keeping threads on topic. Gears, Alika, Sodo, Herman all come to mind. Many others are equally worthy of mention in this vein, but my memory fails me at the moment on their names.
Dylan really was an odd duck - - at least here on the forums. I had no idea how much he stifled discussion. I am glad the doors to useful discussion are open again.
