My 56 has a fram oil filter mounted on the fire wall. Both the hoses were broken. There is one that goes where the oil sending unit goes and one fitting in the gen stand. Need to know if it matters which hose goes to which side of the filter housing.

Yes it matters.

Oil enters the top and exits the bottom.

So I would assume it goes from the oil press switch to the inlet. then from the bottom to the gen stand. Correct?

While I am thinking about it. What would the oil capacity be with this filter added. DO I feel the filter up on its own?
