Hi guys
Just started on the solex 34 pci carbs for my 1500sp engine and have a few questions.
Firstly I bought 3 carbs to make 2 good ones and 1 has a taller emulsion tube housing. Seems to be the same as my 28pci anyone know if there is a better style to run?
Also interested in parts suppliers as struggling to get hold of the emulsion tube holders in the UK. I would also need main jets, idle and both air correction. Maybe someone off here in Germany can help?
Also how easy are these to set up? They are going on a rebuilt engine which by luck has a used cam and followers so doesn't need that running in, but am I best starting with a good single to run it in?

Hi,
fact is there were two different versions of the 34PCI
one version came off the nsu prinz the other one off the the BMW 700
The main difference of those carbs is the acceleration pum as you already found out.
I know people who say the NSU works better but fact is that both work fine. I wouldn't recommend to mix both styles in one setup!
BMW
NSU
For more information/spareparts -> http://www.ruddies-berlin.de/34pci.htm
As far as i know the NSU style carbs are used by riechert for his setups
http://www.riechertmotorentechnik.de/Vergaser/riechert-vergaser/solex/verg_2xsolex34pci-e-expl.htm
TDE (Theo Decker Essen) used the BMW style carbs.
I used to own one like this and it worked propperly.
With best regards,
Lorenz |

Hi
Thanks for that
Looks like I have two nsu and one bmw. Whats the difference in accel pumps? I need to rob some parts off the bmw one for the nsu fuel pump as it has been robbed for parts. (although was put back together and sold complete!!)
Looks like the 28pci emulsion tube holders are the same so that sorts out my first parts issue!! still need a few jets etc etc but know I can get those over here.
Will have some BMW bits left over I can swap for NSU bits if it helps others.

Had them apart and see the difference now
I'm missing 28-31 off the 2nd diagram if anyone can help or 95 and 96 on the first one would do. If anyone can help?
Knowing there where 2 different types I bought 3 off evilbay to make sure I had two the same, sadly although sold as complete one was empty inside
Got a emulsion tube now so will just need a few jets and some luck!!!
