Hello,
Did a Bay ever come with a Driver's (LHD) side swivel seat? If so what was done with the master cylinder reservoir behind the stock seat? Any chance later or earlier Bay's have that reservoir mounted in different location?
I have a 72 and am thinking about doing this. I have 2 swivels and mounting plates from a Vanagon as well as the necessary fabrication skills.
Did some searching but couldn't find anything.
Thanks for your help,
Peter

I don't think any left hand drive bays ever had a swiveling drivers seat.

Nope. Just the passenger side on a Bay.

In '73, the break reservoir was moved to the lower part of the seat stand. There is an opening in it at the front that you can access it from.

I don't know if the earlier buses have this opening or not. This pic was to illustrate how I ran seat heater wiring in my passenger swivel seat, but you can see the opening I'm talking about. I've got a little first aid kit box there in the pic.

My 73 has the res. under the seat, close to the front, right hand side.

Cool! It's under the passenger seat structure or it's under the drivers seat close to the center of the vehicle? Does anyone have a picture of it's location? I see Bus Depot has the reservoir:

The reservoir is under the driver seat. The pic I posted is the passenger seat area... Just to illustrate where in the pedestal the opening is.

Driver side is essentially a mirror image, and the reservoir is right at the front.

VWwestyman;
Do you happen to know if my hose from 72 fastens the same way to the 73+ reservoir? With the the funny plastic hose clamp. I wonder too if VW relocated the hole in the floor where the hose runs from the master cylinder to the reservoir into the 73 and newer Buses.

Captincanuck;
Perfect! That is exactly what I was after. Now all I have to do is figure out if I need a new supply line or master cylinder reservoir to make this stuff work.
That's the 2nd time you have helped me. Now I owe you 2 beers!
