Anyone out there have any photos of VW delivery bicycles, or tradesman-style bikes with baskets used at the Wolfsburg factory? Either 2-wheeler or 3. Thanks. |

Well would you look at that, they are mid-pedal! I would have guessed rear pedal layout, lol |

At least the engine is air-cooled. |

Is there a brand on them or are they just VW? _________________ '67 Beetle L41

No brand name on either bike. All German parts, vw emblem decal on front fender and Andretti Motorsports decal on rear fender. _________________ 67 Cal Look Beetle

We'll be posting them for sale in the spring. Does anyone have a suggestion what I should ask? They were imported from Germany as used Factory bicycles, then used as pit bikes for the VW sponsored rally circuit. I drove to Indianapolis to pick them up before they were thrown away. As far as I know they are the only Factory Transportation bikes in the US. I have found photos of factory bicycles on Google and they match perfectly. As well as what I remember from my visit to Wolfsburg in 06 _________________ 67 Cal Look Beetle

I was interested so I tried to Google search it and it looks like most of the bikes that come up are lady-style bikes, not men's with the upper cross-bar.
I did find this single image that matches your bike pretty well:
The fenders are black though.
It looks like it has a logo on the front lower cross pipe too
Not sure of value. _________________ How to Post Photos

Does VW send birth certificates for the bikes?
I can't imagine how you verify this was a "factory" bike. |

I subcontract for Volkswagen maintaining their vintage Fleet of vehicles. I was given a chance to rescue these two bikes before they were given away to just anyone, by the executive who had them imported and use them personally as pit bikes for the rally circuit with Scott speed and Tanner Foust. If you're interested in purchasing these bikes I can get a letter stating such. _________________ 67 Cal Look Beetle

I would have expected them to be NSU bikes. |

Highly unlikely that any car manufacturer would bother setting up tooling and a production line to produce a few bikes. More likely I would think for them to contract it out to a company like Schwinn and supply a few stickers. That said if they are traceable to the VW factory they are still valid as collectable in my view.
VW bought out NSU if I remember correctly, maybe they came with the package. |

I am not a bicycle Aficionado by far. I would like to find out more about these bikes so I'm going to take a few more photos and post them and let the bike guys decide. I know where they came from so I'm satisfied but I am curious of the maker _________________ 67 Cal Look Beetle

If any of you have ever been to the Wolfsburg factory tour, the factory is filled with bicycles. There are groups of them around every corner. and are used by everyone for transportation in the super large Factory. _________________ 67 Cal Look Beetle
