I currently have a functional green rubber hose for the 4.5mm hose on the DVDA can on my 71 vert. I was looking for the original style cloth hose and got one that was sold as NOS. However, it has a 10mm outer dia which makes the fit difficult -- have to take the distributor cap off to get it on and when I put the cap back on, there's bit of stress on the cap and on the vacuum can nipple. I'd like to avoid that as these cans are getting harder to come by.

What was the OD of the original hose? And does anyone supply it in green braid in the right OD size?

I think the 3.5mm hose for the other side of the can was black originally and I think some vendors carry it (probably only sold by the meter though Sad ).

My 4.5mm Made in Germany Continental green hose is also 10mm outer diameter. I too find it easier to remove the distributor cap to replace that line; however I don't have an issue of it pressing against the distributor cap. (It just runs against the very bottom lip of the cap, then loops around and goes up to the distributor):

Looking at your photo, part of your issue may be that line being too short, causing it to pull up against the distributor cap when installed.

It isn't too short -- actually the photo just shows the end of a meter long line that I fitted only on one end.

Who sells the green braid today?

Thanks!

For East Coasters looking for the green vacuum line, try
www.bugcity.com
and
www.belmetric.com

Both stock it as of this posting.
