The Hirschmann AUTA 8000 came in a few different models. Pretty sure the "C" model designation had to do with the type of collar mount for the fender. I saw one in the wild on a 300SE W112 sedan once eons ago.
There was also an AUTA 8000U that was fully automatic (electric).
You should step up and buy yourself one of these to go with it:

Or one of these hen's teeth:
I do have experience with these... when I was a kid my dad (RIP) was a bank exec... he got one of these in his company cars. One day we were riding along together and I picked it up and started dialing. When he yelled at me using my middle name (GODDAMMIT) I knew I was in trouble.
"But I was just gonna call Grandma!" "Wait till we get home- that damn thing is EXPENSIVE!!!"
Good times. We were reminiscing about that the last time I saw him alive in June.
I have a little collection of these setups... I probably have the market cornered. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

Oh sweet Jesus
A Hirschmann anything is way cooler than that crap. Were record players in a car ever a good idea? I thought us gen X'ers had it bad with our Alpines skippin back in the day. Or were boomers more of a pull over and pic nic type like their mom and dads.
Look a curly headed little fuck just looking for trouble

Have you ever seen any Scott? I remember long ago seeing one or reading about them - cant quite recall but it was tied into a 356 for sure. Might of been my x brother in laws 65 356?
Anywho - always knew about them in the back of my mind but never, ever seen on again.
Im thinking this will go nice with the Blaupunkt Koln - toss the boring Bosch blue tip
Oh and Tram - never, ever forget it was you, the stem, the core, the beginning of my Bay Lifestyle
Im picking her up today from the engine builder. New and clean. There must have been two or three cups of this fine powder dust packed in all around the tank. Found a mouse nest in the rear valance too. _________________

yes - I have seen one in a 356. Jaguar had them too, different brand. |
I think some of those pics I posted were from a Jag thread. As Tram led on they have different tip profiles for different shaped fenders. The pics of the opened box are not of mine. But from the guy I got them from - I have yet to open the box
Hope its a slanted profile to fit my 64's fender. _________________

I think you can still get all those different fender pieces, so you should be fine _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

Stupid rare. Any back story Tram? These fitted in Mercedes you've wrenched on? Are these prone to failure?

Is the angled collar the same for Bugs as for Type 3?
Also, I don't think the category is for Type 3-exclusive accessories, is it? Or just those that are applicable to the Type 3?
Sorry, in a persnickety mood today... |

Ummmm... look at the fender collar on it and I think you will find that it is... unless a T14 Ghia maybe also takes a fender collar with just such an angle.
Now my stuff... guilty as charged. Is this a look of concern? _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.
