Just wanted to give Keifernet 2 thumbs up for being knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful to me. I had emailed him about his services, and he spent over 45 minutes on the phone with me discussing my carb issues, and giving me some tips, pointers, and a few things to look for to try to fix it myself first. I (hopefully) won't need his rebuild services this time, but in the future I'd contact him first in a heartbeat. It's not often someone you've never met will talk to you at all, much less spend that much time on the phone being helpful to the point of perhaps helping me out of needing to hire him for a rebuild. But believe me, that kind of customer service definitely makes a positive impression, and I'm sure I'll buy something from him at some point. Thanks! _________________ <---Air Cooled Search & Rescue Team - STICKERS & Tshirts for sale!

We had Keith rebuild a carburetor for a customers car and were very satisfied with the results.
Unfortunately the latest transaction has not turned out the same. We sent Keith
five carburetors to have rebuilt, two we needed back for pending customer cars He informed us that they were finished, requested payment which we promptly paid two months ago.
It has been 3 months and we have yet to receive anything. Keith has been apologetic but that does nothing for the cars in the shop that are waiting for a carburetor.
As it is now I am out $265 and 5 carburetors. |
Keith did finally get us taken care of and did another carb for the trouble. He built the ones we needed and sent the remaining cores back.
we will not be using him again. |

Guess you're the lucky one. Been almost 4 years since I sent him my carbs and $$$ _________________ 20‰

I had Keith do a carb for me a few years back and couldn't have been happier. I sent him another one earlier this year and communication has been sparse. I'm getting frustrated with the delays. Where are you, Keith? _________________ 1970 Campmobile - 1600 SP

I recently spoke to Keith and he was responding via email so you may want to try that again.
I know he did not have frequent computer or email access for a while in the past.
I recently removed his carburetor rebuilding ad due to a number of posts regarding people having not received their carburetors for extended periods of time. _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

I sent Keith $300 and 7 or so 28 PCI carb's back in March of 2009. He was supposed to use the best of what I sent, rebuild 2 and send everything back.
Initially, I wasn't in a big rush and we did communicate over the first year. I finally needed the carbs back last summer. He didn't have them. He was supposed to start paying back the money I had sent earlier this year. Nothing. I have zero use for the carbs anymore, I just want my $300 back.
What's frustrating is that over the last year he has still been selling carbs to people (probably using the parts I had sent) and all I kept getting was excuses. Hopefully, he'll get back on track and make things right with everyone. _________________ AnimalsInTheAttic

I don't know what happened to Keith things were good for a while and in the last year all I get are empty promises of parts or money being returned...you'd have a better chance of getting your stuff back if you threw it off the edge of the grand canyon waited a year, rented a donkey went to the bottom and started looking for it.
Hell I even mentioned how great his work was in my feature in Hot VW's (because it was written a year ago) find someone else to do you work if your smart. _________________ Let the haters hate and watch the money pile up......

recently? or is this an old transaction? I'm only asking because he owes a lot of people a lot of carbs. Much more than just the ones posting here |

he sent me the carb about 5 months ago or so. I waited quite a long time after sending him a bunch of NOS kits, but I was really in no rush for the carb.......once I needed it I contacted him and he sent me one with in 2 weeks time....... sorry if your all still waiting on carbs... I do not know him, but if you contact him and talk to him, without getting too upset, I am sure he will do the right thing and get what is owed to you. he took care of my concerns, but I talked to him as a person without too much emotion..... hope you guys sort everything out! chadd _________________ If the RV Hut is a rockin, don't come a knockn'

I actually found this thread on accident while searching for something entirely different.
I had a VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH KIETH!
I sent him my old carb and Dist with $295 and it took him over 4 months to get my rebuilds to me. From what I just read on here that is pretty good turnaround for him. He was real nice and helpful at first but after all the excuses he kept giving me my patience wore thin and I couldn't get a hold of him for a while so I left a stern message on his voice mail. A month and a half before that he said they were already done and they just needed testing and tuning. He finally contacted me back and said I would get them shortly. Then when I received the carb and dist they were missing all the necessary hardware I sent with the old ones. I politely let him know and from that point on he was the rudest - condescending and unapologetic. He should have sent me the units bolt-on-ready including all the pieces that may have come on the cores.
It is a real shame because he's got such potential. There are not many people with his expertise but he needs to take a business ethics course.
I'll undoubtedly need more rebuilds in the future. Does anyone know of someone else that's good? |

After discussing the above feedback with keifernet, I thought I would point out that the parts that were missing were the following:

| two 13mm nuts and a barrel bolt |

| I sent Keith $160 back in March and still nothing. Not answering emails. I feel I've been ripped off. Only reason I haven't made a bigger issue is that his reputation on carbs is so good. - All I want is a carb. |

Keith has one of my carbs also. I e-mailed him last feb and he was waiting to test it on one of his friends cars. I told him I was in no rush since I had another carb already on the car.
That's the last I heard from him. I shot him an e-mail the other day asking about it and he responded within a couple of hours. I used his msn e-mail. Give that a go if he hasn't responded. Don't give up on him just yet. _________________ 63 T1 Ragtop Gulf Blue, Certified abortion

Keith is a really good person and has some excelent skills also.
I hope that whatever the problem is gets fixed and he re-joins us again.
If he needs anything to help resolve these people's delivery issues I hope he will contact me... I will do whatever I can to help. _________________ If I wanted to blow smoke up your ass... I would just give you a pack of cigaretts and a short length of tubing. |

I tried to do some business with keith last year. Initially he returned my calls and emails the same day. Then it was like someone turned off the switch, nothing. No emails, no phone calls. I am local so he gave me his cell number but never returned calls. The last time I talked to him he said his son was having trouble in school and eating up a bunch of his time. Who knows. I sent my stuff to krusty carbs and got the job done but it appears Keith Kirchner of krusty carbs has been deployed. Does anyone know where I can get Solex carbs re-bushed??
