All in all, a very satisfying transaction. The heater looks great, is fully functional, and came with the hard-to-find bits and a full book of instructions and templates. Al wanted the $ up front to keep from getting burned by bad buyers, but I didn't want to be burned either, so we settled for half up front and half when the job was done. The whole transaction took about a month, since he only takes money orders.

The following parts were not included...nothing big here: a bracket for the combustion exhaust line, the exhaust line itself, fuel hose, fuel pick-up., wiring from the switch to the fusebox, small hose clamps, gaskets, grommets, nuts, bolts, washers, etc. Like I said, though, no problems with the HTF big stuff.

The book that came with the heater said "for 68-and-up sedans only", and I'm fitting it into a 67 Ghia. I've measured everything out, and it looks like it will fit. I think it said 68-and-up because that's when bugs went to 12 volts, but Ghias went in 67, so I think it's OK.

The packing was adequate, but the heater wasn't wrapped before putting it in the box of styrofoam peanuts. It took awhile to get them out of the heater internals. It would probably make a nasty mess if one of them got stuck inside the heater on light-off.

Bottom Line: I've got a good-looking, great-running heater at a price I was comfortable with. Not much more I could ask for.
