I talked to someone last night that said that those stamped metal wheel adapters are garbage and will explode like a hand grenade the first time you go around a corner. Is the're a safe alternative?
Cuz I scored some oldskool Meyers Manx 5-slot rims which I bought for my ghia but wouldn't fit on because there wasn't enough room to fit around the discs(whoops). So now I want to put them on my soon-to-be-lowered bay-window because they will look so cool on it.
Unfortunately, I didn't do my homework so I actually am bidding on some wheel adapters on Ebay right now. I am hoping someone outbids me.
The rims are 4 lug and the bay has 5. I know the rims will work on drums but I really dont want to have the wheel adapters fail on me. I also heard that the old inboard discs will work witht these rims but they are proly about a grand all the way around. Doh!
Thanks, FM |

| I measured the i.d. of the wheels and it's right around 13" so discs are definitely not going to work with them, unless I grind the calipers down to whittled nothings and then risk not being able to use them anywaze...so I guess my only option is to use the drum assembly off a bug. I had planned on converting the bay to discs but oh well, sometimes you can't have yer cake and... =fm= |
