I Know jack about Super beetles. I have A 71 super beetle and I would like any info about long travel suspensions. or at least how to lift it.
I have built sand rails and a 1968 standard baja bug. I love vw inspired cars and they off road better than my truck. any help would be appreciated

Not much you can do with the SB
There are special spindels that will lift it a little. Vic.

definitely cant do this. SB uses coil springs and struts instead of torsion leaves in a beam front end

if you have the time and skill, you can fab spacer blocks to mount between the struts and upper mounts which will provide a little lift to the front end, but you are pretty limited by the narrow travel of the control arms.

I wouldn't try off-roading with a SB. A couple of good bumps and the whole front end will be junk.

My friend has a 71 standard beetle. Very Happy I took his standatd beetles pan and put my super body on it. (It's already got a baja kit on it.) I also put a 3 inch body lift on it. Now I don't have to worry about the super suspension. Oh they do make lifted spindles but whats the point you will still loose the suspension.

If I wated to I'm pretty sure I could fab a new front suspension. I've noticed that if I can fab a spacer block from the pan head to the controll arms and that spacer block between the strut and upper mount I can get really high but again no matter how high I get it i will still be limited by the travel of the struts. + the struts will break if you apply to much pressure to them. not to mension the tie rods. I would have to extend them to be able to controll the car. Neat idea but doing this would be mostly for show.

lifting a sb, although possible, would be good for looks only. strut spacer increase height but not travel. Hack off the front end and either swap in a bj or lp front end or go full custom with coil-overs (probably easier depending on skill and material at hand). the IRS in the rear can be set up in some pretty trick ways.
