Snow tires were that aggressive in that era. Interesting that the business name ends in "cleansers" not the more usual "cleaners." I tried a Google but that variation of the name didn't hit. |

My 1960 Panel Bus with new hand painted lettering. It's a work in progress and has been ongoing over the past year. 4" narrowed front beam, front disc brakes and typical swing axle kit in the rear. It has front safari windows and a 1600 SP motor. I haven' t really had it on the road to work out the kinks yet. The paint is a flat off white and was applied in my garage via rattle can. I'm still working to apply a worn and patina look. I may consider a more traditional paint job at some point in the future. Plans are to enjoy the bus with a custom camper interior, maybe an industrial roof rack and awning. Looking forward to travels with my two year old retriever named "Bailey."

Not sure what logo this is, any guesses?

Was it taken in Europe? If so, I'd guess at Scandia. They are/were an engineering company. |

My first thought was SCANDIA too but I wasn't sure the part of the letter you can see before the N looks like an A but now I realize the ending A has a straight up and down edge so it does fit - Thanks! _________________ How to Post Photos

Looks like it might be Air-India
The logo on the door appears very similar, but reversed (to aim the arrow forward?)
the font is similar with what looks like it could be the archer's bow below the name on the nose.

I just looked at this thread and when I saw Everett's first post I thought "That looks like Air India!" First impressions are often the correct ones.
Doing some more study, the bit of the symbol on the nose and the blurry symbol on the door seem to match Air Inda's old-style Centaur logo that would have been used in the time period of the photo.
Also, the "NDIA" on the nose of the bus seems to be positioned so that if it is correctly centered for AIR INDIA. If it were "SCANDIA" it would be too far to the left side of the bus.
Here's a period picture of the Cambridge Afrio-Asian expedition van somewhere in the mideast.
And one from Scotia, CA:

Old pic of pic of a panel I drug out of a salvage yard in oklahoma 16 or so years ago. Anyone know where it is these days? That sticker under the gas door was reflective, and read "as seen in life magazine"
