I have a 71 Ghia that needs some floor pan and rocker panel work.
I'd also like to be able to weld little things that may come up with my vehicles or around the house. I don't want to spend a ton of money, and I don't really have all that many welding skills. I found this Lincoln at Lowes and am wondering if it fits the bill for me. Also, will I have to wire a 220 outlet for it?

How about this one? It looks like 110 and it will weld up to 1/8"- most body panels are under that aren't they?

The first one is a stick welder. Not what you want for body work.

The second one looks to be a better choice. Its a wire feed welder and says it will weld up to 1/8". No body panel should be over that.

the second one will work fine. I would get a 135 am unit though. If you ware thinking about narrowing a beam this one is going t ohave a hard time penetrating the thicker metal.

Definately not the stick for body work.

Wire feed is the way to go, BUT you should get one that is set up for gas and solid wire.
Flux core on sheet metal is tough, not to mention messy.
