can anyone tell me whats the best grade sand paper to rub down primer.

Which kind of primer and in which phase of the job?

Are you talking primer surfacer?... final sanding before shooting the top coat? Then wet sand with 600 and dry it off, see if you missed any spots and go again... then when dry use a scotchbrite pad and go over it once again lightly. Blow of the dust and wipe with wax and grease remover, tack rag and shoot it!

keep in mind that you dont have to wetsand. either method is as good as the other, i just prefer a little more dust from dry sanding than the wet mess i get from watersanding. if you do go the dry route, get good paper. it lasts longer than the cheap shit.
