OK, I must say you may just become my new hero, just depends on how you answer these questions.....

Did you install the fuel gage sender? If so, where did you get it? Is it just a VDO sender, or one special for the type of Tank?

Reason I ask is that my '59 has an after-market fuel gauge installed when I bought it, but am having trouble finding a replacement sender that is attached to the filler neck.

the iceland green one has been my project for the last 5 years off and on
and i just had the headliner, and carpet instaled last weekend

I just bought an aftermarket vdo sending unit
and the gauge the goes with that sending unit
it comes with the bolts and flange and gasket
if you want i can get you the part numbers that i bought
i work at a parts store but had to special order them

I would love to know the parts numbers. I no longer have the reserve valve and am tired of guessing how much gas I have left in the tank.

The sending unit is #226002 this is with the mounting hardware
without mounting hardware #226001
the gauge is #301015
chrome pannel #240034
expect to pay around $90
read the instructions its preaty self explanitory
works great!!!!!!!!

Going to leave the shifter on it when you install a 36 or go back to stock on it as well?
