Not on the silver screen either... On the little screen, and the local news at that... But it's our Ghia!

When getting info for one of our favorite car shows this year, we noticed video links from last year. And one ended with our car. Even better, the news anchor knew what our car is... Near the end of this clip, about 5:00 in (after the commercial), through the end:

http://www.myfoxdc.com/clip/9262390/Clifton%20Car%20Show%208am%20Holly%20Morris

(What isn't so clear, is what button puts a video frame/link into the message, from a news site. Tried them all.)

Your car looked "grate". Gotta watch the video to get this cheesy joke.

Also, I grew up in NoVa. Love that area.

My Ghia starred in the film.
The film will be shown at the cinema until next year.
The story takes place at the turn of the year 60/70.
I wonder how many will show?
And here's a few photos from the film.

NCIS New Orleans aired Nov 11, 2014, "Watch Over Me" episode.

A very nice late model red Ghia 'vert is in the first few and last few minutes of the show. Looks to be a '74.

The silver screen and the "little" screen are not always about fiction. This Ghia featured in a California murder trial and a television programme on the Crime Channel. I've "censored" the photo a little to obscure the unfortunate victim, as found by the police. The killer is on death row, I believe.

I was channel surfing over the weekend, and came across this TV series called the Transporter (a take off on the movie of the same name). Anyway, it was episode number 19 and they had a blue Karmann Ghia coupe with Euro style bummers in a few scenes.

In They Call Me MISTER Tibbs (1970), Ed Asner is driving a blue Chevy sedan eluding police, and darts between many cars on the San Francisco-area freeway. He comes up on a light blue VW Squareback on the left and a white Ghia Coupe on the right:

After Asner overcooks a corner (severe understeer) and drives off the road, the police pull up behind "another" white Ghia coupe; most likely the same car used as an extra. My guess the Ghia is a '64 or '65 due to the black-painted wheel centers, and you can get a glimpse of the VOLKSWAGEN script to the left of the lic. plate:

Hi, Udo. If you are referring to my photos being lost in the post just above, they are still showing now for me. They are also in my gallery. Unfortunately they are only low-resolution screen shots from the youtube segment.

The Ghia you describe in The Graduate is actually already shown several pages back.

The wife gave me the first three seasons of the Six Million Dollar Man for Christmas. I don’t think it’s ever been in rerun, in fact I haven’t seen that show since I was a kid and it was on TV.

Anyway, it's been a LOT of cheesy fun watching it, lots of old VWs in the background, I saw this one today in the “look-a-like” episode.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

In the next episode (ESP) he rips the bonnet off a 67 beetle, and beats up two guys with it Very Happy

That's Oscar Goldman's office in the top left corner of the screen BTW Smile

Here's a Ghia sharing this scene with Robert Redford in the 1967 film, Barefoot in the Park. I'm thinking that it's an early '60s car 'cause the fender above the headlight has had some time to rust clean thru. It's also missing a turn signal lens, the outside mirror, and the front bumper towel bars. Life is pretty tough on a car in NYC Sad

spotted this wile watching 'The Holy Mountain'- 1973 - for the second time, I thought there might have been another one but i'm not sure. Lots of beetles in there as well as some other old cars (filmed in Mexico, yet spoken English)

"Cloudy With A Chance Of Love" has quite a bit of footage of the main character with her Karmann Ghia, including 15 seconds into the opening credits. It appears to be a 70 or 71 Convertible.

In one scene the car will not start. Her love interests says she should consider a new car. Her reply - "I love that car"

http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=cloudy+with+a+...5CF1903B5B

The car appears to need some work. A small dent in the front passenger side fender and a bent towel bar on the rear bumper.
