|
|
Just curious, and yes i did a search. I am wondering how many samba members have type 34s. I looked through the gallery, and saw quite a few, but they were mostly listed by people other hten the owners.
Also any idea on the numbers of how many still exist?
I am planning on buying one, and ever since i rode in a fellow samba members one i have been obsessed to say the least. Browsing through the gallery i really have 100% more respect for them!
Sorry if this is a repost _________________ To his their own PBJ

I picked up a '66 over the summer that's mostly complete, rust free, with a good pan. I'm going to be starting the ol' "rip and tear" around 1. December.
I'm toying with the idea of making it 12v, adding Type 3 A/C, and using a 1500S short block with OE domed Mahles, dual- port heads, and fuel injection- stock j-tronic.
I'm planning on going Granada Red on the outside with off- white interior.
None of this is original to the car. I've been a purist all my life. I figure it's time I kicked up my heels and lived a little. The 'mods' will be tasteful, but we'll see if I can actually bring myself to do it.
What started all this is that the car's original colour is 'Seesand', and it's been repainted- inside and out- in something that I can only describe as "1974 Dodge Van Metallic Blue". The horror. I could live with 'seesand on a notch, square, or fasty, but not on a 34. Sorry. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

Yeah i have definitly seen you'rs in the gallery!!! I thought there would be way more then 3 or 4! I know Mr warehouse, that Brit fella with the red one, 2Kabrios, you'rs, and the gentlemen who replied first.. Personally i would like to see a few more Here on The Samba, and we might be able to possibly break the record which i think is 43 at a single event!!!
Im saying we only as a highly motivated potential buyer!
Pics please folks! _________________ To his their own PBJ

Should I let him see my '64 T34 that I salvaged out of the weeds. The proverbial found behind a barn.
What the heck, I don't want to discourage him. It can be done with enough work.

I've got 2 The 64 has been sitting at a body shop all summer waiting for it's turn on the rack, pull out the bent back end. The 65 sunroof is waiting for it's turn to be restored, poor thing has been a project for some 20 years. I've been playing with busses all year, maybe 2005 will be the year for t3's! |

I know of an old guy who had two for years covered up and was anal about anyone asking him to sell it. Well he's down to one now I've heard. I don't know when he sold it but my buddy said he's still anal about being asked to sell the last one. The typical "Yeah I want to keep it cause its worth alot of money and I'm going to fix it up". 10 years later he sells it as a cancer victim for 500 bucks. _________________ Please PM me whatever you are smoking!

There was a t34 in Pullman, Wa., It had Alaska plates on it expired in '88 or something. Had rust, it was still there 3 years ago.... _________________ ---
