Aaron, maybe it is BS, but still looks pretty cool. Does this car have the tag on the front? _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

Aaron may correct me here but i believe that the australian panelvans were the only ones with a body tag with the PV prefix.
below is a selection of pics i have collected of PV tags

That birth certificate is a great item to have. How long did it take to get from when you ordered it? Did you get the data sheet aswell? |

I'm not saying it aint a proper panel van but that M code is not in any documentation I have ever seen or heard of.
I wonder if VW just pluck numbers out of the air every now and then when they have no idea or if they could provide the source dodumentation to back this up?
Also the rear most panels on a panel van 100% of the time have vents punched into them (Australian panel van's were CKD from Germany so the panels were made in Germany in case you were wondering).
This is an odd car for sure. _________________ Aaron

So VW only with the chassis number say all thing about car, and all corresponds to what is seen in the car. In fact this is not a usual panel van with vents and two metal windows, this is that I love.
I'd like to know another one info or more photos of cars like mine.
I thought it was a standard panel van modified and buy the only NOS set of metal windows vw history known, now I will not use, someone needs?

Special order is a special order. God only knows the dealings with a VW agent, a personal buyer and $$ - plenty of $$.
All makes of VW see weird - off shoot survivors outside the norm. In the end - a special order is just that. Special. _________________

Found this in my collection of images. No vents, but it does have the bead lines around the perimeter. Maybe no vents because it is a late model (?) _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

not sure about the production dates but the
Australian panelvans were only produced in 1965 and 1966.
Aaron has a excel file type 3 of option m264 and m265.
there are only about 10 known to still exist.
as stated before theaussie ones were ckd kits assembled in australia. _________________ 1965 Type 3 Panel Van

The doubt is finished when reading the birth certificate, it is a different panelvan from the M264 M265, the code of only one metal window M296, I think thats a special order.
Panelvans wolfsburg production start at early 1962 _________________ Oct.1971 Deluxe Microbus
