There are other buses running bay suspension on the trip, so that isn't an issue. _________________ Richard

Gonna do some work to Casey jones this weekend, new bay window tank( thanks Damon D!!!) due to an unfortunate hole in the original. Lucky for me and ole Casey it waited to go until after my bonzai run to tahoe and back for Pete Reeds pre hitching party. Been close to a month not driving a bus and I'm really jones-ing for a drive. Any wrenching party's coming up? Weather is looking promising for this year if an early November couple storms are any indication. Anyway looking forward to seeing all you guys and gals again this trip. Any new teams gonna step in for the adventure? Any overseas adventurers? |

I think I'm skipping the 2 or 3 VW shows in town this weekend so I can get a new wiring harness installed to replace the one that had a stroke on the trip last year. Hopefully that and two new batteries and I'll be back in business. I'm hoping to fix some of the roof rain gutter rust too since I need to add a bit of structure back into the bus before it twists itself apart. Not looking forward to tackling that particular area because I don't want it to look replaced any more than needed. Looking forward to seeing everyone. _________________ Richard

Word in from Team Wolfsburg West: There's apparently some "other" group taking over the Cold Creek Inn for this year's post-Superbowl SST weekend. So, it looks like maybe we should be looking for another motel that will put up with the lot of SST drivers. Anyone local to Mt. Shasta City may be able to suggest an alternative. |

That's messed up. Don't they know that is our weekend? It is going to be tough to find a place for us to be all together that will put up with us. Hope someone can find us a place. _________________ Richard

Don't worry Black Cat Face, I'm starting to work on it to get ready for last year's trip. I can assure you I will be doing something last minute when February hits no matter how early I start. _________________ Richard

I would think they assumed we would be there during super bowl weekend as usual? I like this year chances - in the past snow always seem to hit right after super bowl wknd, hope we will be hit HARD with snow this year! _________________ Instagram- @vwwanderers

Me, me. I'm new and shooting for 2016. 82 days out. I dropped some dough on WW and got a box of parts for this panel. I guess I should get a title for it? Trans axel and front beam have been slid in. First time on it's own feet in 27 years so we will see. I am a ways off, but, 82 days. I have strong hopes. I have a roof for Rustybus. But figure he may come up first part of Feb to get that squared away, not sure... |
