Oh yeah, the fabled Torker 280. Wink

Have one in my attic right now. Cool

Sitting nearby are a pair of matching blk/chrme Auburn 2 piece framesets still in their never opened boxes, one cro-mo and one alum. frame. Also have a CW Lightning frame&fork up there too next my Patterson nickel frame&fork. Wink

BMX was my life growing up, collected every frame & fork I could, later on in my first apartment I displayed them all on my walls. Still have all of them except one o.g. complete Haro Master Team edition that one of my VW buddies recently got in a trade......felt like I lost a nut too. Embarassed

I was a freestyler. I had a Dyno Comp II and then later a GT Pro Performer. I always wanted a Redline RL-22.

I had a Haro (forgot the model) freestyle BIKE. I was pretty good too. I saw some kid a month ago doing tricks on one and made me want to buy one again although it's 20 yrs later. LOL

I never liked Z-rims, I built a pair for my Gary Turner Mach1 turned freestyle bike, purple anodized bullseye hubs, white spokes, purple Z's. I was too hard on them I guess but they were always tweaked. I replaced them with my ARAYAs until I got a pair of Peregrine 48's and never looked back.

I still ride trials now recreationaly, but I'm not in a big hurry to bust my ass up anymore, so I don't go too crazy.

That Hutch TrickStar was bad ass. I was a big time S&E Racing fan, PK's Quadangles, Floval Flyer i was a freak for it. Landing Gear forks, Flites, ACS Z rims - all that old shit. Good times man. Great thread.

All you fucked up with selling your Gi joes and transformers-their worth decent money on ebay-just look. If you got a bunch of the 70's GI's your sitting on a goldmine.

I rode pro bmx, up to about 2 years ago. I did not race, I rode Flatland, the art of doing tricks on the pegs. My last gig was at Universal Studios City Walk in Orlando Florida. 8 months of 5 shows a night for crap money. Getting paid for what you love to do is nice, but that place was a joke with the costumes and all. Plus we had a talent agent middle man fucking us out of money. I tried to get a direct contract, but Universal was afraid of screwing the talent Co. cause they offered other odd talent to Universal. I'm glad I left, it was holding my riding back-try riding flatland on non-flat ground. I did get to meet Rita and Ziggy Marley-another funny story...During the Reggae Fest The Marleys took over our green room.
When we came back after the set and opened the hall door that led to the dressing rooms a BIG woosh of smoke poured out and it reaked of Mary Jane! The next set when we came back their was a sign on the greenroom door saying "NO SMOKING IN THE GREENROOM PLEASE" You think they gave a shit...lol That was a great night!

Buy the the, I buy old bmx bikes from the 70's into the 80's-but not for Bus prices...Let me know if you have something to sell-take some pics.

My friend "Rob Artigo" used to team up with Ron Wilkerson as the 2-Hip Trick team and also compete in the "King of the Skateparks" series.
I also remembering since Rob didn't have a car to go to Ron & Stacey Wilkerson's wedding in Antioch, I had to drive him to the wedding. Got to meet Bob Haro, Mike Dominquez, Mike Bluff, Eddie Fiola, Brian Blyther, and many other top freestylers there.

That was a cool era of freestyle.Wilkerson had a bad crash back in the late 80s.Was in a coma for weeks.A friend of mine saw the accident, said he was laying unconcious, face in a puddle of blood.16ft to face,no hands out nothing.A couple of my friends went on tour with him and he ripped them off.Shadey dude. They cut his red, white n' blue 'george clinton' dreads ( Shocked )off in brookyn and hand cuffed him to a lamp post!

Dude it's true about Ron-he got shady big time. Was told many times it was the herion. I went to a comp in long Island Greenport I beleave and we could not find a room to rent anywhere due to some Firefigher thing in town. So we started making out way back the down the Experssway to find other but had no luck. At that point we said fuck it we only live about 2 hours away lets just go home and leave early the next day. Well when we woke up it was drizzling a little-we said fuck it and left anyway cause it might stop and the comp be on. When we got there everyone was gone only about 2 tents of people camping out there were left. We asked what happend-where did everyone go? They said they packed up and left. We were pissed cause Ron had the entry fees and did not even bother to call even know the forms had our phone numbers on them. So for weeks we tried to call Ron to see what was up and finaly afetr posting a thread on pedalbmx.com he called and said dude we have been trying to get hol of you. I was like OK-I don't think so but whats up,then when on to explain that he was sending the money back. I have no idea what Ron is doing now-just hope hes off that stuff...

Yup, thats a GT Show alright. Like the Trickstar, it was cutting edge in design for its time.

As for the 24kt gold Hutch, someone finally got ahold of Woody and asked him about it. Aparently is wasn't stolen, but he gave it to a neighbors son, cause he kept googling it. I wish I were his neighbor.

There have been a few copies, but nothing like the original: http://www.vintagebmx.com/goldhutch.htm

Tell you what, those show's were light as hell! I had a hard time riding them cause of it. Wayy to light for me...but are works of art. It was the only frame they made for Flatland made from Alum too! A guy down the road has one First year Blue one,but he's not coming off of it-heh

You should post a pic of the BB area for everyone to see-fu#king sweet!

Wasn't Kuwahara the featured bike on the ET Extra Terrestrial movie?

Yeah Kuwahara was the bike used in ET. I forget which pro's rode in that movie. Anybody remember the Kuwahara Grand Nationals they use to have in Vegas. Our local team went there 2 yrs in a row. Best I did was 36th out of 150 riders in the 14 yr old expert class. No where near getting a trophy but I still did better than 114 other guys. 1st place trophies were like 8 ft tall!
