Make a mess. It would be okay if you do a little brazing, possibly some light welding on thin metal. The bottles do not hold much gas, so small projects would be the thing to remeber. I use MAPP gas with a electric trigger handle when shrinking dents, puts out enough heat and easy to handle.

If you have a need to weld, get a real set up with acetylene. Bottles around 30cf is a good hobby set up. If you plan is to do body work, like replace metal pieces, invest in a wire feed unit, even the 110V systems are good, add a small bottle of Co2 and you are ready to go. Just sold my acetylene gas outfit, after getting a wire feed unit ten years ago the gas system had not been used.
