the Vortex has a pretty strong forum for just about all the WC VW's... their AC forum is not so hot, but their others are pretty strong...

That reminds of of my old 90' GLI I used to have. Only thing I miss about that car was the stock recaro's it came with. Not sure why you traded but whatever makes you happy. Imo, dump those rims and get a nice set of BBS.
