1962 Type 3 Ghia
Back to my T34

TheSamba.com
On March 2, 2002, I visited with the seller of this 1962 Type 3 Ghia. It had pretty bad rust in the floor pans, as well as the fronts of both rockers. Minor bondo work was evident in a couple spots and a small square on the roof. It did not appear to have been hit, except for some previous nose damage. The seller had the majority of the early parts, most of which were removed and stored inside, correct seats, correct early front badge, side, and rear scripts, and a single carb. and manifold. Engine and transmission were removed from a previously running 1964 Type 34. Engine was currently not installed and partially disassembled. Car was purchased from Casa Grande, AZ, along with a 1964 model, which had already been sold some time earlier to another Phoenix resident. Ownership prior to Casa Grande, AZ owner unknown. Engine area had been cut for a 2100cc upright engine at one point.
VIN#:
046 519
664 (hard to read, # stamped under VIN tag location in front trunk)
The Ad:
1962 343 (0 046 519) Needs resto. Everything is workable on the car. The most difficult problem would be the common rocker panel rust and the nose needs a little body work. On the good side: Solex single side draft carb, NOSE emblem, side emblem, perfect glass with the exception of driver side quarter, all gauges, decent body, all locks, original tranny, clean title, this car hasn't been stripped. Engine is out of the car and
according to the VIN# comes from a 64 343. $1000. Phoenix, AZ. Can email pics. Ryan
