Once again the Wolfsburg Registry Volkswagen Club will present the Copperstate Classic all VW show and swap meet, hosted by Universal Technical Institute at 10695 West Pierce Street in Avondale Arizona. Plenty of room, lots of spectator parking, and special club parking in the show area. For the second year we will also proudly present the Heritage Collection, consisting of historic or interesting VW's or VW related vehicles. This in itself is a "not to be missed" event. Join us February 27th & 28th 2010 for this 6th annual charity event is hosted by Buses By the Beach. (www.busesbythebeach.com) Bus BRRR is definitely for the true camping enthusiast and a great use of a VW Bus! Temperatures can and have dipped below zero at night. This doesn't stop the VW Bus diehards from coming out. This one night campout is held on the last Saturday in February each year at Beautiful Pokagon State Park in Angola, Indiana. Each site includes an electric hook-up so you can keep warm with an electric heater. It also comes in handy for warming up a Crockpot full of Chili for the "Chilly Chili Dinner". It is always nice to come back and warm up next to the giant Bonfire after spending some time on the 35-40mph (faster than your average bus) dual refrigerated toboggan runs. Lots of great volks, music, conversation and fun! All while supporting The Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors. Again this year, we are instituting the "Kozy as a Baked Potato" Award for the warmest looking bus! The fee at the gate is $10 per car and is charged by the State Parks and Recreation. Los Boulevardos will not be charging anything extra. We're trying to offset the entrance fee by providing food and drinks to everyone who attends. There are plenty of grills at the park so, please feel free to bring any food or drinks you might prefer, but don't feel obligated. A special invitation goes out to all the So-Cal VVW clubs. VW Club Car Show 2010 Saturday, March 20th Edgewater Mall, Highway 90, Biloxi MS 15th Annual Charity Volkswagen Show in Biloxi Ms. We’ll have top 20 awards plus best of show air cooled and best of show water cooled decided by show participates, Peoples choice award, and best engine award. Lots of nice door prizes and great music though out the day. Silent auction with some really great stuff and a 50/50 prize pot at the end of the day as well. Neat unique events shirts. It is near the Danish style city of Solvang. Take the short hike up the trail to the falls that are usually flowing nicely this time of year. There is no charge to get in. Raffle: You know that new part sitting on your shelf you won't use? Get it back in circulation and donate it to the raffle. It doesn't matter how small it is, we will package together items to make a good prize. Any non VW prizes would be great also. Just bring to the BBQ whatever you have to donate. They promote and support quality volunteer representation for children to provide each child a safe, permanent, nurturing home. This Sunday afternoon event has had in excess of three hundred (300) show cars participate & approximately three thousand spectators. We are extremely pleased to have raised $22,957 at the 2009 event for Lone Star Casa Inc. To date this event has raised in excess of $48,500 ($17,000 in 2008, $6,000 in 2007 & $2,500 in 2006) We look forward to this growing into an even bigger event & have set a goal to raise even more for CASA next year. But you should enjoy camping. Very little racing to be done at the ranch... COST: $40 for the 2 nights (due by March 1st, 2010). Cost covers the site. They will have a section for V.W's only and will offer a special trophy for us as well. All VW's are welcome to attend and enter the show and shine and the drag racing if you like. If enough enter the drag racing then you will be paired off with other dubs and not just tuners. After the show and shine event, all who entered will be allowed to drive on the track in a "victory" lap. We are very excited to work with A.M.S and want to have a strong showing...so let's make this a TRUE V.W. Invasion and turn out in force!!! when: Friday September 3rd thru Monday September 6th, 2010 where: the entire "group" campground at the Indian Creek Recreational Area, located right on huge Mark Twain Lake, which is about 30 miles west of Hannibal, Missouri. Any and all VW's are welcome to enjoy this BNNTA family-oriented camping event. Featuring VW camping alongside a 22 mile long lake, an informal VW Bus show, a fun and highly competitive "best individual" and "best group" campsite decoration contest, a scenic countryside caravan on Saturday over to discover the sights of historic Hannibal, MO (the childhood hometown right on the Mississsippi River of Samuel Clemens, a.k.a. "Mark Twain"), Bus show awards and door prizes, campfire activities, slow drags, etc. Lakeside campground, so bring your watertoys (canoes, kayaks, etc.). BNNTA is held in a beautiful Corp of Engineers built/managed campground with very nice facilities, clean bathrooms and nice shower facilities, a playground and a huge covered pavilion for our sole use. We restrict access to the campground to only VWs, so you won't wake up in the morning staring at the side of a motorhome, just the beautiful sight of VWs of all types sprawling off into the distance! The "total" event/camping fee for each VW for the entire four day weekend is only $30. Yep! A total of only $30! This is a total charity event to collect toys for the U.S. Marine Corps. Toys-for-Tots Christmas program. Every year, the U.S. Marine Corps. collects and distributes millions of toys to needy families in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. It is a non-judged show and the entry fee is one new un-wrapped toy. This fast growing all Volkswagen show at Old Town is intended to be a fun filled experience and as usual at Old Town, will be a non-judged show. The cars will be on display for all to see and there will be all types of activities for the family including a live band, children's entertainment with the Herbie The Love Bug displays, a best decorated holiday car event, Santa, and of course all of the normal rides and entertainment that is found at Old Town. There will also be a vendor/swap meet area and even a used car corral where you can find that special deal on a good used V-dub...
