I guess i really dont know other than you can buy parts from them. But what was their purpose back in the day when they had their crest on alot of vw stuff. I cant really seem to find the answer.

The Wolfsburg Crest is a VW factory thing, WolfsburgWest is just a vendor that sells VW parts and accessories

As far as I know, they still put their logo on their parts. When you see it, it means that they were the company that commissioned that part to be reproduced. And that almost always means it's better quality than Brazillian or Chinese made crappy parts that were the only option before they had them reproduced. ( I've seen parts with their logo on it resold by other companies, by the way. )

okay so vw had the wolfsburg crest and that wasn't tied to wolfsburg west, the parts company, now.

Yeah, Wolfsburg West / Wolfsburg Crest... sound about the same but are different.

But, W-West does sell the crest :wink:

thanks for helping clear this up for me. the reason i asked is because i really like the crest and want to get it as a tattoo but i wanted to know about it before i got it.

does anyone know where it came from?

Wolfburg was where the plant was that manufactured a lot of VW's. I think it carried over into later years such as the wolfburg edition cabriolets/jettas.

Wolfsburg west is just a company name playing on the history.
