Is it normal for a new chrome exhaust to yellow in color, closer towards the heads?

Its an empi stinger, and its worse on cylinders 4 and 2.

Rebuilt 1600, valves at 0.06. Runs pretty cool to the touch, even after 3hrs of driving.

I had the experience of overheating a bug a few years ago, the new chrome tips on the stock exhaust turned blue, don't want another similar episode like that!

Thanks.

Lets see.
When heated most metals discolor chrome in your case.
The exhaust is hottest at the port and 2 and 4 are on the back of the motor where a "bubble" of air can be trapped at speed thus increasing the temp of the header.
So it will discolor but if it makes it all the way to the merged section you really have heat issues.

Yellow then blue like BMW motorcycle did.

This removes it easily:

Running a stinger all the time probably isn't the greatest for it either.
