ABS Black Plastic Seat Back panels with a hair cell texture for the 1968 – 1979 VW Buses are for sale! These panels (like our lower front ABS Kick panels and other Bus panels) have been described as “indestructible & fit perfectly”!
No more having to replace the press hard board panels from water damage (moisture in the air does it too) or the panels breaking apart from removing them since the OEM and after market door panels “L” clips holes are in the wrong placement.
The ABS plastic material will stay black even if you bang and gouge it unlike the vinyl covered panels. Comes with a scrap piece of the ABS material for you to test out plastic wax / protecting, paint them with Krylon Fusion paint.
You can paint the ABS panels with Krylon Fusion plastic spray paint after washing the panels with rubbing alcohol and letting to fully dry. Or for the best painting results, take them to a paint & body shop for them to "Bull Dog" and paint them with flexible bumper paint.
The ABS plastic panels can also be upholstery too by sanding the surface with 36 grit sand paper, spray contact cement on both ABS panel & material, let it tack up and apply them together just like normal upholstery process. Maybe even your original covers too?
The price is for a pair of ABS plastic seat back panels (Black plastic push in REUSABLE MOLLY pins included hand tighten only, no power tools, or you can use your OEM Stainless steel headed ones) with your option of round air holes & cig tray holes in the panels!
