Innovative design:
After building complete restorations and living in these vans we asked ourselves, "What would we want?" A Vanagon towing a Vanagon? Yes you saw it here first. I want that! A bumper that is attached to the chassis that connects to a tow bar. (We installed Subaru engine in the lead vehicle and brake buddy assist in the vehicle in tow for this stunt. Anything in tow that weighs over 2000 lbs needs brake assist.) Recessed fog lights so if you bump into something they are protected. Side hitch receivers that have inside table attachments and hammock attachments. Rear bumper with a built in locking storage box. Gorgeous heavy duty locking storage box with two drop down tables and a built in tray above for a lid. The box doors match the shape of the rear hatch. The universal carrier matches the shape of the rear hatch. You can lock the low profile swing arms at 90 degrees allowing you to open your hatch and not impede traffic. Built in swing arm brackets inside every bumper. A flush mounting rear hitch that is welded into the bumper and the safety pin locks inside the locking storage box. Flush mounting front hitch that blends into the front bumper. (no hitting your shins) Safe flat ladder rungs with 3m grip tape. Engineered infrastructure for strength and safety. Yes and finally a spot for a tow truck to hook to without tearing up the underside of your van.
Quality in manufacturing:
Production begins with material that will provide the best surface quality. Premium cold rolled steel. Design files are then sent to the plasma cutter ensuring each component is cut precisely for a perfect fit. We bend and form our steel because our engineers have specifically designed our bumpers to minimize the amount of seam welds required. This provides more stability and structural integrity. Our skilled team then hand finishes, measures, and cross measures . Bumpers are sent to powder coating if requested for a 3 stage powder coating process. Next is the cleaning, degreasing, and sealing process. Bumpers are twice baked and premium black texture coating applied. Finally we build a custom crate with a layer of foam for the bumpers to rest on and bolt them into the crate. We want your new bumpers to arrive in perfect condition.
