1973 Thing- Runs and Drives Great   Price: 4750
I have for sale a 1973 Volkswagen Type 181 Thing. This VW is dripping with exterior character but mechanically runs like a top, purrs like a kitten, and drives down the road like its shiny and new. This car has been used as a semi daily driver for many years. It is turn key ready to drive one a week, once a month, or every day. It is complete less a few odds and ends like the rear bumper, rear fender, and back seat lower pad. While it has its fair share of places you might be inclined to get some metal and a welder for, it is solid where you really want it to be. Floor pan, tunnel, suspension, mechanical, all that is solid. Aside from a shimmy when you hit warp speed on the highway, this thing hums like a sewing machine. While the parts not be shiny and new, they are mostly there. Top is complete, has all 4 windows, etc etc.

In other words, its rotten in all the right places, assuming you want a car with attitude.

Speaking of rotten, there is a small issue that has an awesome work around. The gas line that runs from the tank to the engine snapped off. The solution is the awesome rear seat gas tank. That's right, its awesome. Really. Its also in the backseat. Think of it as a buy one get one free deal. Don't like that because you would rather put your baby seat back there? No problem. I am happy to drive it onto your trailer, remove it, and adjust the price to stretch that hard line over the pan. I would really prefer that because did you see that second gas tank?!?!

Speaking of attitude, I heard it makes baby's cry.

Will it do a burn out? Sure.
Can you take it off some sweet jumps? You betcha.
Is it great for parades? All summer long. Suns out guns out.
Will your wife or girlfriend like it? No doubt.
Does it have a clean title? You bet, just like the oil.

If you are asking yourself if you can handle all this awesome, then the answer is no. If you don't know how to toss your left elbow on the top of the door and perch your right hand on top of the steering wheel, then this car is too much style for you dig into. There is a Kia down the street at the used car lot that might be a better fit. Drive it like you mean it or don't drive it at all.

I know what you are asking yourself, how do I get into this one of a kind, tub of awesome?!?!

$4,800. Its that easy. There is not another one like it around, and if you know the market, you know that these aren't easy to find, and they aren't cheap.

Don't like my price? No problem. I'm happy to discuss it in person. Am I willing to give it away? No way Jose. I know what this is and what its worth. If you want to lowball, your effort is likely better spent elsewhere.
