Beautiful 1965 Cherry Red/Beige Gray Karmann Ghia Price: $28,500 OBO
This Karmann Ghia was purchased new on September 8, 1965 at Mid-Oregon Motors located in Bend, Oregon, USA. The original service booklet is included with the sale of the car. The booklet has service record receipts from the day of purchase, September 8, 1965, through June 16, 1972. The Ghia has spent the majority of its life in the Bend, OR area which is known for its semi-arid climate, making it an ideal place to find a solid survivor classic car.
-This Karmann Ghia has recently received a high-quality, two-tone paint job along with many new parts. Many hours were spent on the restoration, including great attention to detail when putting the car back together. This work was performed by the owner and his crew at House of Ghia.
-This is a matching-numbers car.
-It has an undamaged nose, and has a very straight and solid body.
-The original floor pans are in nice condition.
-It has original gauges.
-The car includes new German blocked seals for the windshield and rear glass along with the original stainless trim.
-It has all-new rubber for the doors, door glass, quarter glass and too many more seals to list them all.
-It has a new, white pinpoint vinyl headliner along with the original visors that were painted to match.
-The car has been given a new, high-quality grey carpet kit, along with new black wind-lace and new black vinyl rear parcel tray.
-The front seats have new black vinyl seat covers trimmed with black piping. The back seat is still in very nice original condition and has a very unique one-year-only insert leatherette that would have been a shame to replace.
-The black door panels and quarter panels are the originals with all of the chrome strips still intact, along with the original armrests with their original aluminum strips.
-The car never had a radio installed and still has its radio delete plate.
-The dash pad is a very nice reproduction fiberglass dash pad.
-The Ghia has a new 12-piece exterior aluminum body trim set.
-All 5 stock smoothie rims were sandblasted, primered and painted gloss black.
-The car has original slotted trim rings and VW logo hubcaps.
-The previous owner decided to update the engine with a later dual port engine along with a pair of Kadron carburetors and a Bugpack exhaust system. These improvements produce increased horsepower and make it an even more fun car to drive.
-The electrical system has been converted to 12 volt. This results in brighter lamps, makes it easier to replace the battery when it needs it, makes it easier to jump if that's ever necessary, and more.
I do have the complete front and rear bumpers. I recently had the front bumper pieces chrome plated and just finished assembling it with the new hardware and seals...this is show quality chrome and it looks great! I should have the rear bumper back from the chrome shop next week and then assembled within a few days. I'll update the pictures once the bumpers have been installed.
At this moment, the only part that needs to be installed is the rear bumper.
I have a clear title.
