1983.5 Westfalia 1.8t   Price: 32k OBO
Up for sale is my 1983.5 Vanagon Westfalia Camper Van with Auto trans. I have owned the van since October of 2014. Since then I have been upgrading everything to make this the most reliable and functional adventure mobile possible. It has been garaged for most of its life I was told. For sure for the last 5 years by myself.

The odometer was replaced prior to my owning the vehicle. There are about 10K miles on the odometer. About 6K of those miles were put on by me on the 1.8t engine conversion. The paint is decent. There are a couple paint chips, but, the vehicle is straight overall with ZERO Rust! You can email me for some more pictures if needed.

I have all the records of all services done to this vehicle!!

This van is equipped with a 1.8t engine rebuilt and professionally installed at Stephan’s Auto Haus in Sacramento. The difference between the stock engine and the 1.8t engine is night and day. The new engine produces 180 hp and 174 ft. lb. of torque. It comes with an executive order, and CARB sticker in the engine bay, so smogging it in California is hassle free. I smogged it in 2017 in CA, it is easy.

My wife and I did 3,600 miles last year from SoCAl to Idaho and back and it was a pleasure to drive.

Plenty of optional ad-ons were installed with the engine conversion. Cruise control was added. The 3-speed transmission was rebuilt to turbo specs in order to handle the additional power. And 3.27 gears were added to allow for cruising at higher speeds. It will easily cruise at 80 on the highway!

The refrigerator was removed prior to me owning the vehicle and I like the extra storage. A great ice chest did us fine. The water system is all still in the vehicle. The power to the sink as well as hoses to it are removed as I didn't want any leaking happening.
The propane tank is still on the vehicle, but, with the removal of the fridge it is not hooked up at this time.

Some notable upgrades include the following:

_ Cruise control added with 1.8t upgrade
-New standard height springs on all 4 corners.
-VW South Africa big brake kit in front
-Powerflex Poly Bushings everywhere on the vehicle
-T3 Technique HD Front Anti-roll bar
-Van Cafe 15 inch Carrot rims with Nokian tires
-Front and rear Koni adjustable shocks
-Smoked front turn signal lenses
-Smoked rear taillight assemblies
-Land Rover mirrors
-Chrysler T&C stow and go seats for the front seats
-Swivel on both driver and passenger seats
-Rhino brown console
-TransAwning - transawn 2000
- Two memory foam 2 inch mattress toppers for each bed.
- GoWesty hookups
- GoWesty flue stopper
- GoWesty slip-over front window screens

Serious buyers only as you know the value of a rust-free van like this with a 1.8t.

No trades, serious offers only, please don't waste my time.
