1986 VW Vanagon Westfalia Price: 29500
Original 2.1 Waterboxer Engine with 130xxx km (80,000 miles) on the clock. Motivated to Sell.
Overall, this van is one of the cleanest Westy's I've ever seen. Garage kept every winter for the past 33 years. With the exception of some tasteful comfort upgrades, as well as some preventative maintenance work, this van is all original and running extremely strong.
The Westy has a number of upgrades to make it suitable for long term, off-the-grid camping and overlanding. First off with the 150W solar system responsible for charging 3 AGM deep cycle batteries installed underneath the rear bench. This power bank has proven to provide more than enough energy to run a 12V fridge 24/7 for the past 9 months, while still having enough juice to charge my phone, laptop, and cameras. The van has also been lifted 2" to fit larger AT tires. This set up will allow you to drive almost anywhere and live comfortably, for as long as you want (if you have good sun). The batteries are also charged by the engine when the van is running. This Westfalia is decked out and ready to go camping tomorrow.
I'm selling my most prized possession, because I need the money for a future van build. This van (affectionately named Supertramp) has been in my family since the day my grandfather bought it off the lot in 1986. It has been one of the most influential things in my life, resulting in countless memories and experiences. I'm looking to find a new owner who I can trust will use the van to the full potential it deserves.
